Insurance availability

Products, riders, rates, underwriting decisions, and living benefit features vary by state and carrier. Coverage becomes effective only after a carrier approves an application, all required conditions are met, and the policy is issued and placed in force.

Living benefits and cash value

Living benefits are subject to qualifying events and policy limitations. Accelerated benefits reduce the available death benefit and may have tax or public-assistance consequences. Policy loans and withdrawals reduce cash value and death benefits, accrue interest where applicable, and may cause a policy to lapse or create tax consequences.
